About Hootleash
We're building the leash the next wave of autonomous enterprises will need.
Hootleash is pre-launch and in stealth. We're a small, opinionated team building a risk OS for Human-out-of-the-Loop AI - and partnering with a handful of regulated enterprises through 2026 to make sure the first release actually solves their problem.
Why we exist
The pattern that worked for ML doesn't work for agents.
For a decade, enterprises managed AI risk with a pattern: put a human in the loop. It worked because models were slow, narrow, and called from a small number of well-known places. Agentic AI broke every assumption in that sentence.
Modern autonomous systems are fast, broad, and called from everywhere. A human-in-the-loop check on a high-frequency autonomous workflow is either a bottleneck or a rubber stamp. The EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001 - they all assume an answer to this problem that doesn't yet exist in production.
Hootleash exists to be that answer. A risk OS for HOOTL AI: define the boundary in code, quantify every action in dollars, remediate without paging humans, and produce defensible evidence in seconds. We're building it carefully, with regulated enterprises, before we ship it widely.
Principles
Four lines on the wall of every Hootleash room.
Default-deny is honest.
Every leash starts at zero authority. The system widens deliberately, evidenced, and reversibly.
Risk is a dollar number.
We don't believe in heat-maps for algorithms. Every action should ship with a price tag the algorithm respects.
Humans are scarce.
Use them for direction, not for click-through approvals on every routine event.
Audit is a query.
Compliance shouldn't be a quarterly project. It should be a SQL query against a sealed log.

We're heads-down on the first release. We've intentionally kept the design partner cohort small so we can ship something serious, not a demo. If you run autonomous AI in a regulated environment and you're staring at the August 2026 EU AI Act date - we should talk.
